TEXT: Luke 3:4, Isaiah 40: 3-5
OUTLINE: Prepare for the coming of the Lord
CONTENT: The New Testament refers to the one who was ordained by God to be the
forerunner of Jesus. It is important to make preparation for any event, whether you are
traveling or hosting. This is the advent season, the promise of the coming of our Savior; are
our hearts prepared for Him? How we can prepare for this ‘’Guest’’ :
1. We prepare by doing what He commands us to do; Love one another. This is the time for love,
peace, and unity. God first loved us, John 3:16, tells us the extent of how he loved us. Love is
strange in that God loves even when we did not love him. Love is unconditional. We must love
not only our friends but strangers and even our enemies.
2. We prepare when we display Loyalty. Loyalty to Christ and the word doing the will of God, as
we learn and follow the example of Jesus. Apply God’s word to your daily lives. Paul said for him
to live is Christ and to die gain. He was loyal in his service to God.
3. We prepare for the Lord when we reach out to the Lost. John 14:1, Jesus is the way the truth
and the life. Tell others who are lost not to lose hope; tell them what God has done for you and
what He can do for them. Paul told how God transformed his life; He had many trials but God
always brought him through.
