"Real Forgiveness Comes from the Heart"

Everyone gets wounded in life, no one is immune from getting hurt or wounded, but we must decide how much time and energy we spend on keeping malice in our hearts. Most times when we get hurt we tend to settle the score by:
1) Silence- we ignore the person completely
2) We keep our distance, whether literally or emotionally.
3) We get even by nagging or putting on the guilt trip.
Anger is a bad addiction because hurt turns to hate and hate eventually seeks vengeance. Peter asked the question in Matthew 18: vs. 21-"How many times should I forgive my brother?" Jesus answered 70x70. What did Jesus mean by that answer? He was saying that we should forgive until forgiveness becomes a habit. We should forgive because:
A) All People are debtors:- Jesus moved with compassion always, the servant who owed and amount to his master was forgiven and his debt was removed, but he did not do the same when his friend owed him a certain amount to him. He put his friend in prison, showing no compassion, his master was very angry when he heard the story and tortured him. Jesus says that this is what we do, forgive your brother because we have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Romans 6:23, says the gift is eternal life. We tend to forget the parable of Life, which is; we are all sinners. Our debt to God is far greater than we can pay. He paid the debt for all of us, and He forgave us. The payment was made through Jesus on the Cross.
B)All People can become Prisoners:- The servant in this story had an un-forgiving heart and soul. This attitude can make us become prisones of hate, malice and un-forgiveness, let us go the extra mile and forgive our brother and experience freedom.
C)Good News-Jesus gives us freedom:-This freedom comes from within. Jesus asks us to love those who hate us. Adopt the habit of loving people as people and as God loves us.
Forgive them and become liberated.
