Help In Time Of Need

The Holy Spirit is perhaps the most neglected person of the Godhead. This may be attributed to how we were taught, or our upbringing, which sometimes does not allow us to show emotion. For some, the acts of shouting, lifting hands in praise of God are regarded as undignified. When the Holy Spirit falls on us sometimes the power is overwhelming; the Spirit bears witness with our spirit and our hearts are full. The Holy Spirit is a person who gives inspiration and makes intercession for us. He is the third person of the Godhead. Let us consider the following concerning the Spirit:
a) The Person of the Holy Spirit: We must depend on the Holy Spirit to direct, illuminate and strengthen us; to gives us a sense of what is right or wrong. We cannot move without the abiding power of the Holy Spirit. Without it we would surely fail. In every disappoinment is an opportunity for God to work in our lives.
b) The Ministry of the Holy Spirit: Jesus is here in the form of the Comforter, His ministry teaches us to live a Christian Life, because when He comes He will guide us in all truth. He gives us the assurance that we are saved. The Methodist Doctrine teaches us that "All can be saved to the Uttermost".
c) Obedience is key to receiving the Holy Spirit Open your hearts as the Spirit speaks. If you are in the flesh you cannot understand the meaning of being in the spirit. When the Spirit gets into you the anointing and the blessing begin. Obey His words; pray for your enemies, if you allow the Holy Spirit to empower you, boldness to preach the word is given, e.g. the Apostles Stephen and Paul were emboldened by the spirit but suffered the consequences by being persecuted. The Holy Spirit enables us to shake off the devil and his forces.

THOUGHT
The Holy Spirit can only dwell in us when we let Him in. Let Him in your life and experience His fullness.
