It is a known fact that people would look at you, judge you and make conclusions about you without even knowing you personally. They draw their conclusions of who you are and from where you came from. Jesus lived in Nazareth all His life, everyone knew Him, so according to some it was impossible for Him to be the Son of God. Jesus could have been affected by all the negative things said about Him. When He entered the Temple and started preaching God’s word with such power and authority, they wanted to kill Him, especially when He proclaimed that He was the” Messiah”. Though they treated him hostility and disrespect, Jesus never deterred from His father’s business. A person’s personality is not determined by where they came from or by their occupation. When Philip told Nathanael he met Jesus of whom Moses wrote about, he was negative in saying’ “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” On the other hand when Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, He said, “Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom there is no guile”.
1) Jesus showed great courage in the face of opposition, He was authentic in His dealings with others. He was always true to His word, knowing that He was unique from a tender age; He grew to be a man of greatness. He had the power to rescue and deliver, e.g. He raised Lazarus from the dead. He transformed lives, changed situations. Jesus can raise us from the depths of sin and despair, but He can only do this if we a) make Him our Lord and Savior, b) allow Him to transform us, c) allow Him to remove hindrances in our lives.
THOUGHT
Jesus is coming again not as a baby, but as Lord of Lord, and King of kings.
