"Having The Right Mindset"
By Marcus Haynes

William Borden a young wealthy man whose life was not controlled by his wealth but whose mindset was on serving others, came to the Lord through his prayer group. He was a good example of a young Christian. He entered the ministry and towards the end of his earthly journey he wrote three acclamations in his Bible: "NO Reserve”,” NO Retreat", and "NO Regrets". He chose the path or mindset to serve others by drawing his insight from Jesus. In the text, Jesus washes His disciples' feet as a lesson to serve others with joy and passion.
What can we learn from this young Christian? What kind of thinking do we need to serve with joy?
A) Know who you are in God:The most powerful force a young Christian can use on his resume is that he is a child of God. We are all special in God's sight. No honor, or applause or award can adequately define your identity, it is found in you. The book of Ephesians says that you belong to God, sitting in heavenly places with Christ. By His Grace and Mercy we are here. We have all the confidence in ourselves because we are children of the King. Jesus the provider knew everything was under His feet (vs.3). He knew that He was returning to God.
B) Know your calling or commission: Jesus was not acting on His own, His father sent Him, He had a special ministry to accomplish-He knew He had the backing of His Father and The Holy Spirit. God is looking for people to be about His business by His inspiration. God says "I am the vine, you are the branches". God has a mission for each and every single person. Everyone plays a very important part in this family; drawing strength and energy from Him.
C) Know where you are goingWe have God's promise: "I go to prepare a place for you, and will come again to receive you unto Myself". You are God's called out community. Get ready for the time is soon approaching.
THOUGHT
Know who you are in God. Enlist in God's army, He is the Captain.
