"A Mother, A Baby, and A Basket"

The children of Israel were fruitful and increased abundantly, multiplied and grew exceedingly mighty, and the land was filled with them. Pharaoh commanded all his people saying, "Every son who is born shall be cast into the river and every daughter you shall save alive". A woman from the tribe of Levi, gave birth to Moses. She took an ark of bulrushes, daubed it with asphalt and pitch and put her child in it, and laid it in the reeds of the river Nile. She prayed for his safety when she put him in the river. God is calling for Godly mothers like her.
Let us look at qualities of a good Mother:
a) She Loves her children: A mother loves her child unconditionally; she gives life and strength to her young.
b) She Protects her children: She loves them physically, morally and emotionally. A mother cradles and protects us from our disappointments and failures, she cushions our frustration. She protects them:
i) Physically: she will do everything to defend them and would even fight for them.
ii) Emotionally: the heartaches we have after broken relationships, mother help to cushion us from them.
iii) Spiritually: mother helps us to love and serve the Lord.

THOUGHT
A Mother's love is demonstrated in symbols of love, devotion and protection.
