Prepare For the Lord
By Marcus Haynes

Being moved by God’s word through the Spirit and Power of Jesus Christ, God depends on his preachers, like John the Baptist to be very effective when declaring the Word. They spoke with passion, strength, knowledge, clarity and hope to their followers, fortunately, preachers of today need the same qualities in these modern times, because the declaration of the word and anointing of God’s Spirit on his word caused growth in the Churches.
John the Baptist had a mandate to preach God’s word, his preaching was very effective because:
a) He lived his message: John was a non-conformist who lived in the desert, spent much of his time alone and prayed continuously. He wore clothes made of camel’s hair, he wore a leather belt, ate locusts and wild honey for food. He spoke with conviction, power and passion whenever he preached the word of God, and people listened and were transformed.
b) He gave an Un-expected Message: He constantly reminded them to get Ready and Repent for Jesus’ coming, but first he wanted them to repent. They listened, understood and did what they needed to do.
c) He pointed to someone who was greater than Himself: John reminded them that he was just a voice crying in the wilderness, a messenger preparing for the King. He, John, would baptize them with water, but the One who was coming, would turn the world upside down, and baptize them with the Holy Ghost. Preachers point people to Jesus, the one who gives authority and equip you to walk in the light of His word.
THOUGHT
During this Advent Season, let us look to God with HOPE, because He is the Light of the World. Be ready for that appearance.
