No Longer a Baby

The book of Isaiah 7: 14 – 16 predicted the coming and greatness of Jesus; so does Matthew 1:24, as told by a Jewish tax-collector named of Levi, wrote this gospel to his Jewish people to express the coming of Christ. His close relationship with Jesus enabled him to precisely inform the Jews then and us, of the kingdom of God. Matthew 1: 23: tells us that “Behold a virgin shall conceive a Son”, and He shall be called Jesus. Luke 21: also tells of this Advent fulfillment. Jesus was the son of God and also the Son of man, both human and divine.
As human, He grew strong and was full of knowledge and the favor of God was upon Him. He recognized that He was special and had to be about His Father’s business, so He left the territory, to do what He had to do. He came to live among men, teach, heal and save lost mankind. As Christians:
a) It is Time to mature in the Word: As Christians we should not be babes in the Word, Jesus prayed constantly, it was His way of keeping in touch with His Father, through Him He got the nourishment needed to give Him strength. We can only know and grow by nourishing ourselves with the Word.(Isaiah 7:15)
b) We must walk in the power of the Resurrected Christ: Stop walking in our faith as if Jesus is still a baby, He is Not. We get strength, power and security from Him – we know who holds the future. Hebrews 5: 13 & 14, tells us to be mature in the Word of God, He is the coming as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Wake up-be mature in the Word and Accept Jesus as our Savior. Remember He is “The Lilly of the Valley”. In the midst of our celebration of Christmas, do not forget the true meaning of Christmas. Put away malice, envy and unforgiveness, though we falter God forgives us.

THOUGHT
Remember to keep Christ in Christmas.
