TEXT: Jeremiah 1: 5
OUTLINE: God’s call of Jeremiah.
CONTENT: Your birth is not an accident. God established that fact with Jeremiah when he
decided to tell God he could not be a prophet because, he was yet a child and could not
speak. God told him He formed him in the belly thus knew him before he was born. God
ordained us to be whatever He wanted us to be; we were made by God for God. There are two
things to be remembered: –
(1) We were born in the Mind of God: God told Jeremiah he created, ordained and sanctified
him to be a prophet. In His wisdom he formed us. The psalmist says in Psalm 139: 14, he is
fearfully and wonderfully made. God chooses every detail for our being in His world.
(2) You and I have value: Imagine how Jeremiah felt when he heard the creator’s words; you are
valuable to me. Psalm 8:4, questions the worth of man that God values us. God knows we are
significant while man may think we are nothing. Ephesians 2: 10 says we are God’s
workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God ordained for us.
Luke 15 tells of three lost things; a coin, a sheep, and a son. Each parable has it’s own lesson
but shows the importance of finding the lost item and the value to the owner. God made us all in
His own image; no matter who we are or where we are; our accomplishments or our failures, we
are His and should make a difference in our environment. We have Christ’s DNA, His blood
washes us from our sins.
Thought: Walk with your heads held high, you are a child of God.
